Nordik Radiant donates three hydronic heating system demonstrators to vocational training centres.
As part of its operations, Nordik Radiant places particular importance on promoting and developing the skills of current and future plumbers in the field of hydronic radiant floor heating. The company therefore takes every opportunity to support training and professional development for the next generation.
We are therefore proud to announce that we are now contributing to the practical training of many students enrolled in plumbing and heating programs at various vocational training centres across Quebec by recently donating hydronic radiant floor heating panels. As a result, these students will now have access to a complete and fully functional system, specially designed by Nordik Radiant for classroom learning.
The following vocational training centres have benefited from one of these donations to date:
- Centre de formation professionnelle des Portages-de-l’Outaouais (Gatineau)
- Centre de formation professionnelle 24-Juin (Sherbrooke)
- École professionnelle de Saint-Hyacinthe (EPSH)
In some centers, we even had the opportunity to fill and commission the panel directly with the students, while in others these steps were carried out with the teacher. In all cases, this allowed us to demonstrate concretely how the systems work and to answer questions in real time — an excellent opportunity to share our expertise.
A practical teaching tool
These demonstrators will allow students to become familiar with the essential components of a modern, connected hydronic radiant heating system: boiler, variable-speed circulator pump, manifold, air separator, expansion tank, zone valve control control, actuators, smart thermostats, and more. Each panel replicates a real system, enabling future plumbers and heating technicians to understand:
- How fluid (water/glycol) circulates in a radiant heating system
- The role of each component in a hydronic system
- Best practices for installation and commissioning
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures
Although the panel is fully functional, the electric boiler heating elements have been disabled and the boiler power supply has been converted to 120V in order to maintain power to the control display, as classrooms do not have a 240V electrical supply.
All components that make up the system are supplied by Thermo 2000, Taco, Grundfos, Calefactio, Caleffi, CopperPress, and Sinopé. We thank them for the quality and reliability of their products.

Training the next generation in a fast-growing sector
Hydronic radiant floor heating systems are becoming increasingly popular, both in new residential construction and renovation projects. By providing these demonstrators, Nordik Radiant aims to support the next generation and ensure that future professionals master best practices from the very start of their training.
A win-win partnership for schools and the industry
All three institutions now benefit from extremely useful teaching equipment to illustrate how a real hydronic radiant system operates. For instructors, it is a practical tool that facilitates learning. For students, it is an opportunity to handle professional-grade equipment and gain a better understanding of the technologies they will encounter in the field.
Do you teach hydronic heating? Let’s talk.
Nordik Radiant would like to extend this initiative to other vocational training centers. If you are a plumbing or heating instructor and believe your students could benefit from a hydronic radiant heating panel demonstrator to enhance their hands-on training, we invite you to contact us. We would be happy to assess your program’s needs and discuss collaboration opportunities to help, together, train a skilled and well-equipped next generation.
