What is an air-to-water heat pump?
An air-to-water heat pump moves heat rather than creating it. A quiet outdoor unit extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it to water indoors. That warm water then circulates through radiant floors or other hydronic emitters to gently heat living spaces. In warmer months, the process can reverse for cooling (with compatible fan coils). The same system can be paired with an indirect tank to make domestic hot water. The result is even comfort, lower energy use compared with many traditional systems, and an all-electric pathway that’s quiet and low-maintenance.
