Is the Propylene glycol 94% with inhibitor used at 94% or is it to be diluted with water?

Nordik Radiant

Depending on the application (ex: indoor radiant floor heating, snow melting), this glycol should be diluted with water (ideally distilled) in varying proportions. For indoor use, we recommend a proportion of 70% water/30% glycol, and 50%/50% for outdoor use.

Is this product the same as MEG? Thanks.

Nordik Radiant

No, Propylene Glycol (PG) and Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) are different chemicals, although they are both glycols and share some similarities.

Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water and is used by the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries for various purposes. It's commonly used as a food additive, in antifreeze, and in cosmetics.

Monoethylene glycol is also a colorless, odorless, and slightly viscous liquid. It is primarily used as a raw material in the production of polyester fibers and antifreeze solutions.

While both are used in antifreeze formulations, they have different properties and applications. Propylene glycol is sometimes used as a safer alternative to ethylene glycol (the main component of traditional antifreeze), especially in applications where there is potential for human or animal ingestion. However, they are not interchangeable in all applications due to differences in their properties and toxicity profiles.
