The perimeter cable can only be connected to another perimeter cable or to version 2.1 and later water leak detectors. This means that you cannot replace the probe of your detector with the perimeter cable unless you have version 2.1 or a later version of the WL4200S or the WL4210S.
Everything works great, the included instructions made it very easy to install and there are some extra features that make it even more versatile. I would definitely recommend buying one of these.
